Tucked in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, just 9 miles to Aspen, Snowmass Village delivers on your elevated expectations.Known for jaw-dropping scenery, Snowmass, Colorado is a world-class ski resort less than six miles from an internationally served airport, Snowmass is the most convenient mountain destination in Colorado.
Majestic mountain views, massive mountain terrain-- 4,406 vertical feet, Snowmass has the most in the country. And with 3,332 acres of terrain, 94 trails, 21 chairlifts and access to your choice of cruisers, glades, steeps, terrain parks and halfpipes, you'll have plenty to ski, but you'll still have the option of using your liftticket in Aspen, Aspen Highlands and for beginners, in Buttermilk. Snowmass used to be the sidekick to Aspen, but now it clearly stands on its own with its new base village that boasts more restaurants, bars and activities packed into a manageable, charming village. And it's great to be able to take the short bus ride to Aspen for an evening to check out the scene. (We most likely will have a night happy hour there). Free transportation day and night between the two villages.
Ranked #1 overall resort by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine for three years in a row, the sheer volume of Snowmass, demands repeat visits to our awesome ski trails. Snowmass has something for every level of skier. There are plenty of groomers and cruisers for novice skiers while our steeps, half-pipes and three terrain parks will challenge the best of the best.
Snowmass features 4,406 feet of lift-served, vertical rise - the most in the United States. What does this mean? It means incredibly diverse terrain and super long runs. It means a ton of skiing and not a lot of sitting on chairlifts. And speaking of chairlifts, because Snowmass is a true destination resort and not a drive-in mecca, there are virtually no lift lines. With amazing terrain, several days of sunshine, a multitude of parks and pipes, not to mention slope-side lodging, dining and shopping, it is no wonder Conde Nast Traveler Magazine said "Snowmass is a skiers' Shangri-La."
